Great news from Dara Joy.
Wonderful news!!!
For those who haven’t heard, yes, Dorchester and I have reached a settlement agreement!!
I want to take this opportunity to thank the thousands upon thousands of readers who sent me their best wishes and letters of support. It was a long and difficult six and a half years and your kind words meant more than I can say. These letters often came on the days I needed them most and I will be forever grateful to all of you for that. It has always been a pleasure to write for you.
Although neither side can discuss the terms of the settlement, I am happily looking forward to bringing you the very best novels I can deliver. Get ready, the stories you have been waiting for will be coming your way soon! Within the next few months, I will have more great news for you concerning the release dates of my upcoming novels, which will be brought to you via traditional publishing channels.
To add to the celebration, I have an special Valentine for my readers. I know so many of you have been waiting really, really patiently for another Matrix story and I do not want you to have to wait any longer . . . so, as of today, I am immediately releasing a brand new Matrix of Destiny story called:
DEATH BY PLOOT PLOOT!
We will be doing this for a limited time only so if you want to receive your copy or would like more information, just go to http://officialdarajoy.com/MarketPlace/marketplace.html
And from the bottom of my heart, thank you again for all your prayers and hugs!
Love Always,
Dara

I just fixed the glitch on the faqs button under the MarketPlace page. This page explains what to do once you have received your book via email. It is a very simple process. Please allow between 24 to 72 hours for the email (book) to arrive as we are processing orders as fast as we can.

Glad you’re back. Just placed my order. I’m hoping that Traed’s story will be one of the first to come out! Tyber is associated with the Matrix? Which book did I miss that tidbit in??? Between Lorgin, Tyber and Traed…it’s just hard to choose a favorite!

WOW!! My Prayers have been answered!!! You are an awesome writer and it will be my great pleasure to see your books on the shelves again!!! Not to mention more MOD books!! OH yeah and Tyberius Evans! Rejar & Tyberius are my two favorite characters. Although, I think I LMAO the most when the microwave met a untimely end in Knight of a Trillion stars.
Your characters have such an amazing depth, likability, and my kids think I’m crazy as I LMAO reading your books.
Congratulations, on the settlement. I hope its everything you were waiting for and then some. (skips happily off to order new novella)

I have waited and hoped and prayed and waited some more, cried some then hoped again that I would one day get a continuation to the novels that I still re-read like they are new. I have both books you self – pub’d and still I wanted more. Thank the lord you are going to be back!!!!!

Congratulations.
I am a devoted reader for um, has it been 20 years now? =) I found your heart books years and years ago and after the third book I waited and waited for another. I especially like the end when you realized their tutor was in disguise and guiding them all along. I loved those cute endings. I really hope to read more of them. I hope that they have more lives to learn about. There is so much more to learn and I hope to read more about what happens as their world gets older, I want to see what is in store with Rejar (sp?) with the powers to the tenth and what he learns with the family knives he uses. ( sorry if I didn’t use the correct terms, I honestly haven’t read the original 3 in a very long time and don’t remember the exact terms but I didn’t want to cheat and go back to the books and look for them, I was hoping you would be impressed that they impressed me so much that all these years later I can still remember all the details just not the terms.)

Congratulations, Dara!!! I’m so very pleased for you! I’d heard the case was settled, but I had no idea you were going to offer up this wonderful surprise. I just thought I’d drop in to send a congrats note your way. You certainly deserve it after all you were put through emotionally as well as financially. (Thank goodness I did. I just switched off of Comcast and would not have received any emails from Cory.) I know standing firm with Dorchester wasn’t easy. Heaven knows it wasn’t a quick process either. We’re all so glad you were able to hang in there and even toss a couple of wonderful “bones” to help entertain us along the way. Your books have always been my favorite list–starting with the very first one I read– High Energy. At that point, you were just the story I was stuck with if I wanted to buy a JAK book. I had no idea I’d be back at the bookstore that very same day asking “Do you have any more Dara Joy books?” Your imagination and talent have added so much joy to all our lives. There are simply no words to express it. Mind you, I could have done without the weird looks I’d get for laughing out loud if I dared to read one of your books in public
! It would be hard to tell who’s more excited. You–for finally being able to write (and get paid- amazing how a law suit drains the coffers) using more traditional methods again Or Us–your extremely lucky fans who will be able to read all your new books–starting with this fabulous MOD treat!!! I know I’m already dying to read it!
Thank You for standing up for yourself and not quitting when the going got tough!
Take care

Thanks to all of you!
I will have more news in the next few months regarding my novels.
Anneriet- Yes, it feels sort of like that. The 2 books published during the suit are hard to get, I know. THAT FAMILIAR TOUCH is totally gone. There may be a few copies of WILDCAT ARROWS hanging around- if you want one, contact Cory and see if he still has any left.
Darla, Sally, Candy, A and E,Lisa, Joy(!), Corina, Angela, Alta, Patti, Christine, Carried away, Donna,Di, Geri, Becca, Janett, Rae, and Jackie- Thanks and big round of hugs!
Carrie-I would like to revisit Tyber Evans too. (He seems to be a fan favorite; hey, we do like our heroes smart and a bit kooky on occasion ) Yes, I will attend conferences again; I love going to them. Maybe in the fall?? Not sure when yet. Will let everyone know.
Bernice- Tyber in MOD is fan speculation.
Lynda- Does that also mean to the spoils belong the victor? Always wondered that.
Katel in France- Merci, beaucoup. Champagne, oui!!!
Cheryl- Wow, you do have a good memory. I am impressed.
Deb- the new story (Ploot Ploot) is in that universe
Felicita- Thank you for saying so.
Bekka- Yes, it does drain the coffers and so much more.

Wishes DO Come True! For you, Dara, I am so happy and proud and delighted. Thank you for allowing this to happen. Your work is so different and has an effect on people that you would find hard to imagine. Well, maybe not – your stuff is really imaginative! Iv had a feeling all week! Last week I finally got Familiar touch and so I decided to reread all the previous books in the series, because I hadn’t read them in YEARS. As I was enjoying them I started thinking… am I ever going to read Treads story? Ever find out what happens to Dariq? Whats Rejars destiny? Brygar? Will it be more years and years of waiting to read one of my favorite authors? Does litigation really take this long? (I know the system is slow, but deeyaaaam!)It was getting depressing with each book, and then I went on your site 2 days ago and noticed that it was in construction so I had a feeling of hope! I swear my first thought was….its got to be over, it just has to be. and it is! Congrats! Anyway I’ve concluded that I’m psychic….. or just lucky!
I just hope you have a couple or 20 books ready and waiting for publishing

Hi there!
.
Just needed to drop by (again -yep, the little frenchy with the champagne bottle lol) to say thank you for death by ploot ploot… Got the book yesterday morning (while at work, damnation! Couldn’t start it right away!). Thank you for sending it so fast. And I’m pretty pleased to see that it’s protected with a code and all, pretty neat thing imho…
Sooo.. Back to the story in itself. Finished it already. It was defintely too short. But then, your books always are, forcing me to read each of them twice in a row (ok, so, no one is holding a gun at my back…. But I just can’t help myself ^^) or starting the serie all over again (which I’m presently doing with koats….).
Got only one word to tell you….
MORE!
More death by ploot ploot (that title cracked me up and my co-renter is still tring to figure why i was rolling on the floor yesterday evening….), more of those aviaran males, of those adventures, and more of your twisted humor that i enjoy so much (the neighbours too by the way.. Wonder if they might start getting worried and call the asylum for me…
Hum.. Where am I leading already? Ah yes.. I had one serious question (yes, IT does happen.. Sometimes…
. Do you know if your books where ever translated in french? And if so, by whom? My co-renter wants to read your stories, but she can’t read in english to save her life (when you think that the sign to point out the exit if there is a fire are sometimes in english here, that sentence takes on a new whole dimension…
.
Well, I’ll leave you now. In peace….(who exclaimed ‘at last!’…?)
I’m sending you a mail with a few more questions at qask89 … I really hope you’ll be able to answer me..
Thanks again for the plootploot (and back to more laughter.. ^^)
See ya..

Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been seriously missing Traed and Tyber.
Also I am fascinated to see if you will be turning Ritual of Proof into a series.
I have also missed all the characters we came to love in the Matix and “High” books. What about Mills and Stan’s brother (the good-looking Mazurski)? Do they hit it off! Why does Tyber call his Wizard Yaniff? I want to meet more of the Mist. I LOVE cats and I love how you have turned them into a species. I could go on and on and on……
I am seriously psyched or is that physiced. Who cares if spelling is not my strong point look where it got Zanita
Welcome back, Tanya.
PS I think Traeds love should be named Ta’ Niya. I think the name has a certain ring.

Not just because I wanted to read the next installment of the Matrix series but, because no artist, in any medium, should be denied the right to and access to express there GOD given talent; the right to enjoy in full all the benefits afforded and due all the hard work!
I look forward to many years of reading your continued work; and, hopefully meeting you at book tours and conventions in the near future.

I read “Death by Ploot, Ploot” last night. Love it by the way. I have been waiting for an update on Lorgin and Deana (Adeena). Knight of a trillion stars was the 1st Dara Joy book that I ever read and I have been reading each one ever since then. Note: I read knight of a trillion stars so much that my book started to separate and fall apart which I still keep it. But, I did buy a new one. I figured if Dara Joy ever does a book signing and I can make it that I would bringing all of my books including the 1st one I ever got that is falling apart. I hate to keep harping on it. But, will there be another sequel maybe one that concentrates on Traed ta’al Krue. I would love to read that one. Mmh. I will keep checking the website.
Have a great day.

Hey D, long time no er…read? It’s been a while, but I have always enjoyed your stories. I’ve been keeping up to the best of my abilities (and affordability *lol*) though I may have lost track for a while.
Congrats on the settlement. It really was a long ‘discussion’ wasn’t it?
Heh, on another note, I’ve been expanding my romance novel tastes to ebooks too. Much easier to keep than physical books *lol* Hey, just as a point of curiousity, does any of your ‘written universes’ have ‘non-traditional’ romance groupings such as menages or slashy types? Just thought I’d ask. *lol*
I was looking at the rpg section and I was wondering, are there other shifter type characters beside the familiars?
Anyway, congratulations and keep up the talent! ^.^V

I have just read Knight of a Trillion Stars, Rejar, and Mine to Take on a break from school. It took me 4 days as I read them non-stop! My mother got me to read them, and she warned me that there might not be another book to continue the story. We were both excited beyond words to find out that there is more to come from the Matrix of Destiny characters! I am in awe of the intricate details, the languages, the customs, the mysteries that have you waiting for the next book before you even finish the one you are reading, the whole other universe you have created! Of every book I have ever read, of every movie I have ever seen, nothing compares to what you have created! The romance, the comedy, the adventure! I hope their will be a story about Traed soon! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity, your passion, and your heart with us!

I am thrilled to hear that you have finally settled. I hope that you feel that the weight of the world has been lifted off of you. I can’t wait for your new books. I have bought all but “Death by Ploot Ploot”. I just hope that will still be available when I finally have the money. LOL.

Aloha Ms Joy,
I am so excited to hear that you have won your suite against The Big Bad Publishers. I am an avid MOD fan & have read all three books 3 times each at least. i have been waiting for Traed’s Story for forever . I guess I like the strong silent type. I have told several friends about your novels & they have loved them also. We all are happy for you & that you are free to continue to share more great (& sexy) stories from Aviara.
Much Mahalo & Blessings from A fan in Hawaii

I just wanted to pop on to say congragulations!
I became your fan many years ago through my mom and my books are almost crumbling, I have read and reread them so many times. When I heard you were free to publish again I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face!
I’ve purchased Death by Ploot Ploot, and all of your other books, but missed out on the other stories you wrote on this site…will you be making them available to the public again?
I’m sooo excited and, from the looks of all of your fans comments, I’m not the only one…can’t wait to read your next book!!
*jumps up and down excitedly*
Good luck!!!!!!!!

Dara,
Congrats on the settlement. Like a previous fan wrote, I came to know you as “the other author” in a JAK book. Turns out I liked your story better. From then on I would hunt down any book that you wrote. They are all prominent on my KEEPER shelf. I’ve read and reread them so many times over the years that the pages are starting to fall out.
I adore the MOD and Energy series. Unfortunately, I was unable to get copies of “The Familiar Touch” or “Wildcat”. I hope that you’ll be able to mass publish them. I just ordered “DBPP”. I can’t wait to get it. From other posts I’ll have to make sure that I don’t read it on the bus on the way to work. I also hope that you’ll continue the world you created in “Ritual of Proof”.
Looking forward to your next book.
Congrats again and Happy Writing,
Kate

OMG!!!
My mother got me started reading your MOD series and I absolutly fell in love with it. By far some of the best books I have ever read. So disappointed when I thought the series wasn’t going to be finished. My mother said it feels like she has been waiting in aniticipation just short of forever for the rest of the stories. Now that she knows you are continuing them, well both of us are beyond exciting. So wishing you good writing, and well be waiting.

This is some of the best news you could give us Dara! I’ve been an avid follower from the start at Dorchester and you were my very fav author back then. I’m really looking forward to reading you on a traditional book again! Please post soon about books you’ll publish that way
Thank you!
